SunRidge Employment

SunRidge Charter School accepts applications throughout the school year but does not typically announce any openings until January or February for the following year.

SunRidge is a charter school guided by the core principles of Public Waldorf Education serving approximately 284 students in grades K–8.  SunRidge’s talented faculty is supported by an involved parent body and a collaborative model of governance. Full day instructional assistants support our Kindergarten through 2nd grade classrooms with additional instructional support offered in 3rd through 8th grades. Our holistic Waldorf curriculum provides Specialty teachers for classes in Instrumental Music, Games, and Handwork.

Qualified applicants must have a California Teaching Credential or be enrolled in a credential program. Waldorf Certification, or being enrolled in an approved Waldorf certification program, is highly desirable.

We seek candidates who have an unqualified love of children, high academic standards, the ability to respect and engender the respect of students of all ages, the knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm to engage students of all temperaments and ability levels, and the interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues, administration, and parents. Strong skills in art, music, and/or drama are a major plus. Previous experience as a Waldorf class teacher in multiple grades is highly desired.

SunRidge School is located in the small town of Sebastopol, California. Sebastopol is one hour north of San Francisco, 20 minutes from the Pacific Ocean, in the coastal hills of beautiful and progressive Sonoma County. Our teachers are employees of the Twin Hills School District and receive a competitive pay and benefit package as per district policy. Teachers receive annual step pay increases in addition to periodic cost of living increases, and participate in the State Teachers Retirement System.
