Independent Study Now Offered at SunRidge for 2012-13
SunRidge School now offers a home-based Independent Study Program (K-5) to complement its K-8 school-based program. We are excited to offer a program that will meet the needs of more families. The Independent Study program integrates individualized learning with academic, social and cultural opportunities. See "Independent Study Program Grades K-5" for more information.
New Town Campus
We are excited to announce that this 2012-13 school year, SunRidge School's 1st through 8th grades are now located at our new town campus at 7285 Hayden Avenue in Sebastopol.
This 10+ acre campus provides much larger classrooms with abundant natural light, a full size sports field, a large beautiful library (see photo at left), a gymnasium, and plenty of parking.
We continue to maintain our beautiful country campus at 487 Watertrough Road for our Kindergartens as well as other early childhood programs, our Independent Study Program, and a farm and ecology program for all our grades.
We are happy to be able to better serve students with these expanded facilities and to offer the benefits of both a farm campus and a town campus to Sonoma County families.

New Site Update
For 2012-13, the Sebastopol School District Board is leasing the remaining 4 classrooms and two portables that are not included in SunRidge’s lease to the REACH school.
Meetings are under way to discuss how SunRidge grades 1-8 and the REACH school can best co-operate on the Pine Crest campus for the 2012-13 school year. These meetings will focus on two general areas of need:
This is an exciting time for SunRidge. If we can all put our energies into clarifying any concerns we have and seeking ways to resolve them in the best possible ways, I am sure the sharing of the campus with REACH can be made workable and enriching for everyone. Thank you in advance for your participation in this effort, and if you have questions or the need to express yourself about any aspect of this, please contact Mark Rice, SunRidge Director.

- operational logistics related to the needed sharing of all outdoor space, and any negotiation of SunRidge sharing of their leased space with REACH, and
- community relations between the two schools so as to build a positive and healthy environment on campus for the staff, parents and students in both schools. The community relations meeting teams will be formed shortly. The operational teams are already meeting.
